Given the sustained increase in positive cases of coronavirus and the pandemic outbreak that is going through Guantánamo, the provincial Temporary Group to confront Covid-19, chaired by the highest authorities of the Party and the Government in the territory, approved new measures for the restriction of the mobility of motor vehicles.
The new provisions will come into force next Monday, August 9 throughout the province, are valid for the state sector as well as for the private sector and include the circulation of a reduced number of state vehicles in correspondence with the functions they perform, with the authorization and responsibility of the director of the entity.
With the prior approval of the working group of the Provincial Directorate of Transportation, vehicles that ensure vital services for the population (production and commercialization of food, water supply, communications, electricity and health activities), related to the confrontation with the pandemic.
The circulation of administrative transport, only that of the heads responsible for the fulfillment of the tasks assigned by the provincial Temporary Group to confront Covid-19.
The Transport Business Unit (UET) will authorize private sector vehicles linked to activities to combat the pandemic.
The authorized means of transport with the approved sticker may circulate 24 hours a day, including individuals.
The rest of the transport will only be able to circulate until 2:00 in the afternoon, as follows: vehicles with license plates ending in even numbers, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, while those with license plates ending in odd, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Specialized transport and cargo, which is a function of the economy, funeral cars, ambulances, fuel and oxygen transport, solid waste collection, water supply pipes, water trucks, are exempt from carrying the circulation authorization. cargo, buses and taxis that support the confrontation with Covid-19.
In all automotive environments, the hygienic and distancing measures approved in the sanitary protocols must be complied with, such as the use of the nasobuco and of solutions for the disinfection of the hands.
The authorization is only for circulation and not for transfer to other municipalities or provinces, which will require requesting the established permit.
