They check progress and delays of the works planned for the 150th anniversary of the granting of the title of Villa to Guantánamo in an urban historical center during a tour in which deputies Henry Rodríguez Terrero and Idaliena Diaz Casamayor, top leaders of the Municipal Assembly of People's Power, Rolando Cantillo Díaz, Coordinator of Programs and Objectives in the Board of Directors at that instance, Zulma Ojeda, Director of the Group for the Integral Development of the City, and managers of the commerce and gastronomy sectors.
Among the units visited were the restaurants La Criolla (subject to a major renovation, which includes the canteen, bathrooms, furniture, false ceiling and awning), the adjoining Venus, the Genova pizzeria, and other places, among them, one of vital importance for city dwellers and the municipality's economy: The Art Zone, formerly Guantánamo Pavilion, the largest exhibition center in the province, where, thanks to the efforts of the Cultural Property Fund (which will administer it), the face and interior of the building has been transformed which recently completed three decades of erection, before assuming its new corporate purpose: the commercialization of works of art, for which it will have a large meeting room, projection room and store.
