The Commander of the Rebel Army, José Ramón Machado Ventura, was selected by the Guantánamo Municipal Assembly of People's Power as one of the 26 candidates for deputies to the Cuban parliament who will represent the territory in that instance, where the main policies and laws of social impact in the Greater Antilles.
The delegates of the main municipality also voted unanimously, as candidates, Dr.C Osiris Aranda Creagh, rector of the University of Guantanamo; Raiza Bombalé Jorrín, delegate to the Municipal Assembly of People's Power; Yarisleidis Cirilo Duboy, an athlete with notable results in canoeing; Ernesto De La Cruz Rodríguez, director of Encomed Provincial; Idaliena Diaz Casamayor, President of the Guantánamo AMPP, as well as Rafael Pérez Fernández, First Secretary of the PCC in the province.
The Guantánamo Municipal Assembly of People's Power elected seven of the 26 candidates for deputies to the Cuban parliament.
The municipality chose seven of the 26 who will be opting, for the Alto Oriente, for a position in the ANPP, and by justifying the reasons for which they were selected, those present at this First Extraordinary Session of the Eighteenth Mandate Period of the Local Organs of People's Power, signified the humble origin of those proposed, their values and exemplarity, who dignify the territory, as is the case of Machado Ventura. Likewise, they were urged to maintain their commitment and link with the people in the province.
The Commander of the Rebel Army, José Ramón Machado Ventura, on behalf of the recently elected candidates, thanked the people of Guantanamo for the honorable entrustment before the National Assembly and indicated that he will continue, until the last of his days, serving the country from this responsibility doing everything possible to promote and preserve the social conquests of Cuba.
