Idaliena Diaz Casamayor, President of the Municipal Assembly of People's Power in Guantánamo visited the CCS Mariana Grajales, whose lands are dedicated to the production of fruit trees and other vital foods for the agricultural sovereignty of our municipality.
Accompanied on the tour by the Mayor, Rolando Cantillo Hernández and the Delegate of Agriculture, Agustín Realin Hernández, the deputy to the Cuban Parliament learned how an important hydraulic installation is currently being carried out in the CCS that will guarantee irrigation on 300 hectares of land, which will benefit the production of 45 producers in the municipality.
In addition, 1% of the territorial contribution is used, with an amount of around 4 million two hundred thousand pesos for the work and the Russia Youth project, of international collaboration, is implemented.
The intention of the members of the cooperative is to continue advancing in food production, and incorporate other projects, together with the University, not only in order to guarantee the supply of water, but also to achieve a rational use of it and save it in amidst the current context of drought.
Precisely, concerned about the issue of water supply and its impact on the population, Diaz Casamayor, together with Rider Enrique Mastrapa Laborí, Vice President of the Municipal Assembly of Popular Power, checked the work carried out by the UEB of Aqueducts and Sewerage to guarantee the service in the Rubén López Sabariego Popular Council.
The management of the AMPP Guantánamo was interested in the advances, obstacles and alternatives planned, especially in areas with serious effects on the service that the people have denounced for days.
These types of tours are part of the daily work, control and close link with the base that our First Secretary of the PCC and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz Canel, is calling, as part of the exemplary action of the cadres of the Revolution and officials public.
