The Day of Culture of Paraguay, an event that commemorates the 64th anniversary of the liberation of the town and promotes the best of the Movement of Amateur Artists (MAA) of that demarcation, was held on July 16 and 17 with the active participation of the town, as the main bearer and defender of the traditions of that terroir.
Exhibitions of plastic arts and crafts, expo-sale of books and literary and dance meetings, as well as recognition of creators, instructors and neighborhood institutions, clarified the Conference, which had among its main locations the House of Community Culture, the local multipurpose square, the public library and the La Fonda Gastronomic Complex Sports complex, since the popular festival was dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the creation of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation.
Stand out in the programming the presentation and debate of the book Municipal Historical Synthesis of Guantánamo, by the authors Wilfredo Campos and Margarita Canseco, by the Provincial Book Center, and the performance of the groups Rumores del Guaso, Los Cossiá, Milagro y sus Orichas , the Catalejo dance group and the Montaña Integral Artistic Ensemble, the latter arrived in Paraguay as part of the tour of vulnerable communities.
This XXXVIII edition of the event, had as particularity that it coincided with the fourth meeting between the arts of the MAA of the communities of the so-called Second Ring of Guantánamo, a propitious space to socialize the results of work of the Paraguayans, from home, after two years of pandemic.
The Day of Culture, whose objective is to strengthen the identity values of the residents in this portion of the Upper East, included moments dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the inauguration of the House of Culture of Paraguay, the 60th Anniversary of the Union of Young Communists, the 63 years of the Federation of Cuban Women and the centenary of the University Student Federation.
