The candidates for deputies to the National Assembly of People's Power, proposed by the Guantánamo municipality, began this Monday a day of exchanges and a tour of centers of economic and social interest to connect directly with the people and learn first-hand about the concerns of the working people.
Work and education centers, communities and neighborhoods of the city of Guaso were on the work agenda of the committee that included representatives of local People's Power bodies, such as Idaliena Díaz Casamayor, President of the AMPP Guantánamo, the Municipal Electoral Commission, as well as the candidates for deputies Yarisleidis Cirilo Duboy, Raiza Bombalé Jorrín and Rafael Pérez Fernández, member of the Central Committee of the PCC and its First Secretary in the province.
Among the sites visited were the Tobacco Factory, the Guantánamo Sports Initiation School (EIDE) Rafael Freyre Torres, the Provincial Center for Sports Medicine, as well as the neighborhoods of constituency #102, where the Vice President of the Assembly works as a delegate. Municipal Government of Popular Power, Rider Enrique Mastrapa Laborit, and in Villa Toa, constituency #3 of the Rubén López Sabariego Popular Council.
During their stay at each site, the candidates proposed by the AMPP were presented, those of the provincial and national instance, for a total of seven people, who represent various sectors of Guantanamo society. The feedback was the focus of each meeting, where the electoral process of the deputies was also explained, their selection and particularities with a view to achieving massiveness in the elections on March 26.
The population, when talking with the candidates, recognized the achievements of each one, whose merits make them worthy of representing the people in the Cuban Parliament, it only remains to trust that they will be able to proudly defend the interests of the province and the country. ´
The tours of the candidates for deputies, which do not respond to any trivial exercise in politicking but rather to the democratic, participatory nature and the reinforcement of popular control in our socialist system, will continue all week, so that when voting day arrives, the majority of Guantanamo people know and know how to argue the reasons that validate their proposal for parliament.
