In #Guantánamo, rice is sold in various parts of the city at different prices, which respond to the type of supplier that guarantees them and that were approved after analyzing the balance of costs, expenses and profits.
In the small squares, where Acopio supplies, the maximum price is 55 pesos per pound.
In the little squares leased by new players in the economy, the maximum approved price is 70 pesos per pound (because they are private individuals who, by their own means and management, guarantee that product with additional costs).
In the Commerce units, the free sale of a type of rice resulting from municipal management was authorized in other markets in the country. That rice is not the same as the basic basket. Its price is 64 pesos per pound.
The authorities of the #Guantánamo municipality insist that rice is marketed in the places described above without affecting the basic basket, which we assure will be completed in the remainder of the month.
