Presided over by Mayor Rolando Cantillo Hernández, the Municipal Administration Council in Guantánamo, with the presence of Yucleidys Ramírez Ramírez, First Secretary of the Party in the municipality, analyzed the complex situation of dengue in our territory.
Rolando Cantillo specified that as an immediate action managers will be designated by areas to care for and guarantee care for the community. In addition, other actions will be evaluated in view of the increase in cases and the lack of resources to face this tense situation.
"You have to isolate yourself, take the necessary measures to avoid contagion of both dengue and #COVID19" said the Mayor, who said that, given the current energy and health contingency, cadres and managers, as public officials, must redouble their efforts.
The First Secretary of the Party in the #Guantánamo municipality, Yucleydys Ramírez Ramírez proposed that in the diagnosis of each area, the Presidents of Popular Councils and representatives of the people be added to think about how to solve, together with Health, problems that affect the increase in Dengue outbreaks: cleaning of green areas and basements, elimination of outbreaks with the participation of workers and companies on a voluntary basis, detection of drains and clogged sewers, collection of solid waste, leaks.
Also in this session of the CAM, the consultation process of the draft law of the Comptroller of the Republic of #Cuba was evaluated with the Vice Comptroller Eduardo Ramírez to discuss the general lines and ideas to improve the scope of the entity and the current Law 107 of that organ.
Likewise, the situation of the Maternal and Child Program was checked, which reports 101 births more than in the same period of the previous year, a stable infant mortality rate and a decrease in the rate of low birth weight.
The Mayor pointed out that the conditions of the Maternal Home must continue to be improved and the Vice Mayor Mirtha Sánchez Matos insisted that the Health groups must strengthen their operation to prevent mothers at risk from staying at home.
"You also have to take care of newborns and pregnant women in the current health situation with dengue and COVID19," added Vice Mayor Jesús Portes Belicer.
The review of the action plan of the Life Task in the municipality as a priority in the Work Program of the territory was the task of the Vice Mayor Mirtha Sánchez Matos who reported that 119 actions were planned and many involved transformations in vulnerable communities.
“To date, 85 tasks have been completed, including the construction of housing for the population that resides in places susceptible to flooding, hydraulic networks. Everything is integrated into the municipal environmental management strategy that must be carried out in all entities with Management Systems to mitigate the impact of our activity on the environment”, she pointed out.
The highest representative of the Administration Council in the municipality proposed to assess the inclusion in the 2023 budget plan of the actions that are taxed to the Life Task, to give it better follow-up.
High point in the CAM debate was the self-sufficiency program in the municipality and food marketing. The Vice Mayor of Food, Osmel Quintero Leyva reported the actions for the rationalization of fuel and the use of traditional means to prepare the soil, in addition to the fact that the sowing of grams is fulfilled, such as fruit; viands are less than 90% as well as vegetables less than 80%.
“Dairy physical productions are not fulfilled, which had to distribute fluid milk due to the shortage of powdered milk, while the Food Industry fails to comply with the 7 physical productions, and they were suggested to take advantage of fruits with natural sweets for pulps destined for Education and Health ”, he added.
The need to reverse these situations, as well as better serve the Community Markets, create or adapt premises in those Popular Councils such as San Justo, where there are none, as part of caring for our elderly, was one of the reflections of Rolando Cantillo, in the # CAMGuantánamo, which also invited the Coordinator of the Provincial Government, Donna Baños Guerra.
Other topics analyzed were the approval proposal to explain the cause of non-solution to the proposals of Pharmacy, Housing and EPCONS, the executive report on the behavior of the 2022 Economy and Budget Plan at the end of the semester, the analysis of the situation of the Fiscal Policy and its compliance, the measures of the 2020-2025 environmental strategy, Housing procedures, the follow-up of the AMPP Agreements and the state of attention to the proposals formulated by the voters to the constituency delegates.
Yucleydys Ramírez Ramírez, First Secretary of the Party in the municipality, called on CAM to control more and better, combat illegalities relentlessly, “the government cannot be permissive. The people have to see the control and that their rights are protected and guaranteed.”
